Tauranga artist Garry Osborn is a painter, theorist and teacher of considerable experience. He regards abstraction as a chance to bring chaotic images from the mind and to compose them and bring them into symmetry. Acrylic media are excellent for this purpose because of their versatility. However, Garry also frequently works in oils, water colours, pastels and charcoal, as the inspiration calls for, and is known throughout the Bay for his dynamic murals. The pieces are finished when they are balanced and inevitably contain seeds of future works within them. Garry runs Dynamic Arts courses throughout the year, with the next classes for beginners starting in January 2007. Groups are small, personalised and cater for each student's creative aims. Students benefit from his lifelong commitment to his artistic life and practical experience. Garry organises art tours both in New Zealand and abroad for his students from time to time.
